TABATHA

4/9/08: This sweet little bear coat is a diamond in the rough. She's 38 lbs but probably needs to gain 5 lbs or so. She gets along with other dogs and her personality is really coming through in the short time she's been here (3/29/08). Tabatha is very well behaved.  She will be spayed and have her eyes fixed on 4/19, and will be ready for adoption soon after that.

8/11/08: Tabatha is in her new home with Jan and has decided that she really likes the good life. Jan is spoiling her tremendously, but that's okay. Tabatha deserves it. Thanks, Jan, for giving Tabatha the second chance she so desperately deserves.

10/15/08: Hi Cindy, Tabitha has blossomed into a wonderful companion.  She is wonderful with my grandchildren and other dogs.  She is everything I could want in dog.  When I learn how to scan pictures, I will send you one. Best wishes,  Jan and Tabatha

2/27/09: Cindy, I want to give you an update on my precious Tabatha. She had shown signs of not being able to see, Dr. Belew suggested I take her to Dr. Andrew to have her eyes checked. The Dr. found that Tabatha has progressive Retinal Atrophy. She suggested I give her a Macular Support pill, (an antioxidant vitamin supplement), which may or may not help. This condition is hereditary in middle age dogs. I am giving her the pill and pray it will slow the progression of the retinal atrophy. I use a bell when walking with her. She does not want to go out because she is so insecure. I will do what ever to give her a good life. Jan

We are very, very sorry to learn this. We know Jan will give Tabatha the best care possible.

7/14/09: It is with a very heavy heart that I write this email. Tabathia has not been herself the last couple days and this AM she did not want to get up. She wouldn't eat, so I made her some chicken and rice. She still wouldn't eat. I took her to the vet and the x-rays showed she had something in her stomach and her Colin was full. I gave the doctor permission to do exploryory surgery. When they opened a up her pancreas was 70 percent cancer. I had her put to sleep. She was such a great dog, and I will miss her so much. She was very happy and just started to get a little frisky every now and then. She was loved by the neighborhood. They all knew she was almost blind and would always stop and give her a pat. Jan

We are so sad for Jan and Tabatha. Jan is heartbroken and will miss Tabatha terribly. Cindy
