ROCKY

10/23/07: Rocky is a beautiful fawn horsecoat with a big head. He is gorgeous! And what a clown!! He's young, probably a year or so, and loves life. He's good with other dogs, big/small/male/female. He's 50 lbs and has no skin issues at all. His coat is very pretty.

3/12/08: We placed Rocky last October and almost as soon as he realized he was away from his friends, he developed separation anxiety. The family did their very best to help him through this, but they just couldn't turn him around. So, Rocky came back to us in February. Since then he has not exhibited any anxiety at all, but the set up is very different to what he reacted so strongly to. Here, he is with other dogs all the time and he has access to the fenced yard through the pet door. He does not have run of the house. He is behind a gate and doesn't seem bothered by it at all. He's a happy, healthy boy as long as he has this arrangement. So, if you have a similar set up and would like to give Rocky a great home, please fill out our adoption application.
Rocky is a very lovable fellow. He likes everybody, especially kids, and he loves other dogs. He also passed his obedience class with flying colors!

5/21/08: The Rock Man is on his way to his new home in Indiana. Cecelia was very excited to meet Rocky and I think the feeling was mutual. She will keep us updated on how he settles in. Also, yesterday Rocky got a care package to take with him to his new home from his other home that didn't work out; so Rocky has new toys and delicious treats to welcome him home.

3/29/09: Rocky is doing so good. He was
quite a destructive boy there for awhile, but I think Nala keeps
him in line. It is really funny because she is old, and he out
weighs her. If he wanted to he could really hurt her. He has such
a good natured disposition. He does like to play pretty rough
though. My sister's dog has weekly visits and they get to play
pretty rough then. Rocky has brought alot of happiness into my
home. He is rotten though, but aren't all our babies? Good to
hear from you. Cecelia
1/10/10: Cindy .... this past summer after a rain I saw Rocky walking on his front feet for appr. 20 ft from the gate to the door. I thought that he did not want to get his feet wet. Then towards the end of Oct and Nov. he was doing it more often. To watch him play with my sisters dog on the week-ends you would not know that anything is bothering him. I took him to the vet Christmas Eve. and he informed me that he had bad knees. He weighed 52.5lbs {only 3.5lbs more than when I got him). He put him on a strict diet, letting me know that surgery was not an option to the problem. He put him on a glucosamine & HA supplement along with fish oil pills. He is addapting well on the diet but has trouble when he first gets up. Is a little stiff. I message him daily but am dissatisfied with his improvement. Nala is still boss and is getting around better then the Rockman. I decided to start him on the supplements that seemed to help with Nala's stiffness. It is supplements from a vet in Maron who uses it on horses. It really did wonderes for Nala, so I decided to try Rocky on it. He is such a lover. He still chews on blankets and socks and trash if he beats me to the waste basket. When I take him this spring for his shots I am going to have the vet check his teeth and see if they are coming in ok. He acts like he is teething. Cathy brings Shintu up on the weekends and to look at them play Rocky seems perfectly ok. I thought maybe the problem was his LEAPING over the gate in the house. He does not do that anymore now. Too painful I suppose. He has torn the carpet up at the entryway a few times, but he is growing out of that distructive stage. I could not have adopted a better dog. Hopefully summmer will bring him better health.. The vet did not seem to think it was his hips, just his knees. Cecelia
