MOOSE

Moose is about 3 1/2 yrs. old, 55-60 lbs., deep red coat and really a sweet boy. He loves to play (once he gets to know you) but if you give him a stuffed toy,  he'll just tear it to shreds. He doesn't realize he's as big as he is, so when he plays with you, you have to be ready for him. He's been in the show ring and did well, but it's not his favorite thing to do. We call him moo-moo and he loves it. He knows the word "cookie" and responds very well to that. Moose gets along well with other dogs and is crate trained and house trained. Moo Moo will make a wonderful pet for some very lucky family. Is it yours?

UPDATE 7/5/03: Moose went to his new home today in Decatur GA. He will be living with new playmate, Taz, along with Talia and Celia. We're sure that Moose will be very happy in his new home.

UPDATE 1/6/04: Moose is one lucky guy!  We couldn't have found a better home for him.

UPDATE 3/28/05: Moose is doing great. Here's a new picture of him with one of the toys from his Easter basket!

UPDATE 5/27/05: Moose is doing great, again. He thought it would be hysterical the other morning to sneeze right in my face. I bolted upright in bed covered in snot and slime. He was sitting beside me, in the bed, wagging his tail as happy as he could be. He then took his paw and swiped my arm, which means, " his majesty is ready for petting now and maybe a kiss." He keeps pawing until he has had enough adoration and then walks away. If you try to pet him or smooch when you want to, he snorts, turns away and actually gets annoyed. Shar pei are so smart.

11/17/07: Dear sweet Moose passed away today as a result of renal failure. It is a very sad day in the Carter-Worth household. They can't imagine life without Mr. Moose.

10/19/08: Sweet dear Moose also had an entry on the 2008 Wall of Rescues. His family still really, really misses him. Here's what they say about him:

In loving and eternal memory of my beloved pet; Moose “the Bullwinkle” Worth.

Moose was adopted from the Tennessee Shar –pei Rescue, organized and operated by Cindy Sherrill. He came to the home of Talia Worth and Celia Carter in July of 2003.

Weighing in at 75lbs, Moose was the Arnold Schwarzenegger of peis. With a whacky sense of humor, and an intense need to be the star of the show, he was definitely a spoiled boy. Living in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, he spent his days gutting toys, sunbathing, and hogging his siblings’ dog beds. He was much loved by his family and in spite of his size and appearance, was very content with his roll as lap baby and glamour boy. He earned every bit of his nick-name; the Mooey-Gooey.

Rest in peace, my sweet boy. You are still missed.
