HONEY

8/3/08: This cute little thing is Honey. She's a very tiny fawn horsecoat. She only weighs about 25 lbs, but she needs to put on a few pounds to be at her ideal weight. Honey is about 10 months old and very playful. She loves other dogs and she is especially fond of children.

Honey is being spayed tomorrow so she'll be ready for her new home in a few days.

   Are we there yet?

Honey is an excellent rider and she walks well on the leash.

8/5/08: Little Honey was spayed yesterday and she did very well. She was very quiet last night and most of today, but she's back to her playful self tonight. Honey is being fostered in Murfreesboro by Penny, Roscoe's mom, so she will be going back there in a few days. Penny and Roscoe miss her!

8/14/08: Honey is doing so well in her foster home. She is very smart and learns the routine very quickly. She is crate trained and house trained and has learned to share her toys with Roscoe!

9/24/08: Honey is so full of herself and she has a ton of energy. She needs an active family with children, which she loves, or with a runner or someone who does a lot of outdoor activity. Honey has become rather alpha since we got her, so even though she loves playing with other dogs to a point, she might do best in a home without other dogs.

9/30/08: Update from Honey's foster mom: Honey is happy to be in the house all the time. She likes to run in the back yard, but she only does that when I'm out there with her; other wise, she sits on the porch waiting to be let back in. Whoever takes her will need to plan on being the center of her universe. She's one of the most devoted dogs I've ever seen. She is also a great watch dog. No one comes in my house without my knowing it. She makes sure she's between me and whoever is coming in until I let her know it's o.k. Penny

11/5/08: Monday, I had a guy working on my bathroom floor. I was upstairs working on the computer and I would hear Honey trot up the stairs, go behind the bar, and stay there for a few minutes ;then trot back down stairs. In a little while she'd come up again and go behind the bar and stay for a few minutes. This went on about 4 times and I finally thought I'd better see what the crazy girl is up too. I looked behind the bar and she had stolen about 4 of the guys tools. I went to get them and take them back to him and she actually growled at me. She was so annoyed that I took them away from her. She's a kleptomaniac. Funny little thing. Penny

11/12/08: This family is complete now that they have Honey. Aren't they a handsome bunch? And little Mackenzie is precious. The most amazing thing was to watch Honey play hard with Steven, but when Mackenzie got close, she was ever so gentle. Honey loves kids and she'll have a great home with the Coxes. Way to go, girl! You did good.

11/15/08: She's doing great. This morning I guess she thought we should play chase. My father came over this morning and left the door open and out she went. Took us about 20 mins. to catch the little rascal, but we got her. It was like she was smiling at us the whole time, knowing we couldn't run as fast as she could. She's adjusted alot faster than I thought she would, it's kinda like having an extra shadow following me around. Couldn't have asked for a better companion. I don't think Cleo, the Bengal cat, likes Honey yet, but Honey enjoys chaseing her around the house and barking at her, but she has not shown any aggression- just barking. I think they'll end up be friends after awhile. Kylie hasn't seen her yet, we sent her pictures and she is so excited. Honey and I will pick her up at school on Friday. Steven

New pictures came today!

3/6/2010: Everything is going well. Honey has become a great family dog.
