This pretty girl came to us as an owner surrender. As you can see, she has skin issues and she also needs entropion surgery. But before that can happen, Frankie has to be treated for heartworms. We began that treatment on Monday, 9/25, so she will not be ready for adoption for about eight weeks. After finishing the treatment, she will need to have entropion surgery for her very bad eyes. She doesn't see perfectly now, but we're hoping that with the surgery, she'll recover most of her vision. Frankie is a sweetheart. She's good with other dogs - she even lets Buster, the Watermelon Man, push her away from her food bowl. She's a little shy of new people at first, but it doesn't take long for her to begin to trust. Frankie is house trained, vaccinated, spayed and will be heartworm free before being placed for adoption. Check back often for updates on how Frankie is doing. 10/9/06: Frankie is doing so well. Her personality is really shining through. She's so friendly and sweet. She will make some family very, very happy.
12/6/06: Does this look like a happy family or what? They were so excited to meet Frankie. Frankie was a little slow to warm up, which I fully expected, but I'm sure by tomorrow morning she will pinch herself to see if she's in heaven! Thanks Fisher family (and Willy)for taking Frankie into your home. 2/14/07: Hi Cindy:
Frankie is bonding and playing with Willie a lot... So good to see. Her nickname is ItchieScratchieChewieLickie because of her skin issues, but we stay on top of them and she is OK. She now almost completely understands the "boundaries" of staying within our eyesite when off her leash and she loves the freedom to run with Willie and play.
Look at this pretty girl! 8/6/07: We have just learned that Frankie was put down today because of her skin issues.
