EBONY

7/24/08: Ebony is a beautiful black horescoat Shar-Pei, 1-2 years old.  She was a stray, found in a subdivision in Atlanta.  The neighborhood people fed her, and she slept on porches for several days.  Everyone was hoping her owner would put signs up or would find her.  This did not happen and she was taken to the County Animal Control where a kind gentleman called Shar-Pei Rescue to tell them she was there.

She was a very quiet, scared little girl when she was picked up.  My how she has changed!!  She would not get more than a foot or two away when taken out to play in the fenced yard the first few days.  She soon began to feel secure and now runs around the yard.  She is learning how to play, but still does not know quite what to do with toys.  She does love her bone and treats, though!

She is spayed, up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative, crate trained, microchipped, and house trained.

She will be a wonderful addition to any home.

8/14/08: Today Ebony is in her new permanent home where she has been fostered for a month or so. The test she had to pass was to be nice to Janet's other Pei, Sable, who is blind. Ebony passed with flying colors. She even has Sable playing again - something she hasn't done in a while. Way to go, Ebony.

3/10/2010: Here are a couple of pictures of Ebony in the snow and Sable and Ebony waiting for some treats.  Ebony has been going great.  She is beginning to take on the role of watcher of my father.  Daddy had a stroke on Jan 18, 2010 and Ebony has been checking on him, making him pet her using both hands, he talks to her (both skills he needs to .  She has even went into his bedroom before going to bed to verify he was okay.  He had been very tired and I believe she was picking up on that fact.  She even did it the next night as well.  She would not go into his room before this.  These dogs are amazing.
