Chip came to Tennessee after spending a few days in the Fulton County shelter in Georgia . His family was evicted from their home and Chip was left behind. Confused, lonely, and terribly hungry, he was brought into the shelter with the hope of being picked up by his family. Either they were too burdened with their own needs, or did not know where to look for him; nevertheless, they never came to claim the little guy.
Chip is a playful boy at 40lbs. The vet thinks he should be around 50 to 55lbs for optimal health. Full of energy and a naturally good temperament, he will make the perfect playmate and companion. Even while living at the Fulton County shelter, he got along with the other dogs and when introduced to the rescue pei of Tennessee , he began making friends with them immediately.
Chip is around 2 years old, with a reddish brown coat and beautiful amber colored eyes. His favorite things to do are ride in the car and seriously and quietly take in the outside world. He loves to socialize and play with other dogs or be with his favorite person. Chip is not completely house broken, but like most shar pei , he has a keen understanding as to what pleases his person. It will not take him long to understand house training. This is a very sweet dog, which will be great with kids and adapt well to family life. Anyone would be proud to have Chip as an addition to their family.

12/3/05: It was love at first sight as you can tell from this picture. Chip and Antonio are going to have a great time together. Thanks, Antonio, for giving this guy a second chance.

Look at this handsome boy!
