BETSY

2/15/08: This pretty little girl barely escaped from a horrible shelter with her life. She was pretty scared at first, but is really coming around.  Her name is Betsy and we are proud to report that Betsy has a sponsor. Thank you, Rebekah, for donating to help with Betsy's medical bills. We really appreciate it.

Betsy is a tiny little thing, around 27 lbs. She's just as sweet as she can be and she loves other dogs. She's crate trained and house trained, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventive.

4/23/08: This little girl is definitely ready for her new home. She loves playing with the dogs here, but would like her own home!

7/3/08: Surprise! Surprise!! Little Betsy got a home today. This family was approved to adopt, but wanted to visit before deciding which dog would fit their family. Well, they chose Betsy!! Tony and Brooke and their little boy, Mason, were really taken with Betsy's personality and the way she expressed her instant liking of them. So, we fixed up the paperwork and they loaded Betsy up and off they went. We know Betsy is going to have a great home and will have a second chance at the good life that she definitely deserves.

7/5/08: Hi Cindy,
Just wanted to let you know that Betsy is doing great already. Everyone has settled in even better that we expected. She loves her new yard and playing with her big brother, Johnny. She seems so relaxed and happy already. She even gave Mason a good night kiss through his crib. I will send you a picture soon. Brooke

10/17/08: WE LOVE BETSY! She is the sweetest little girl ever. She fits so well into our family.  She is so happy and always my constant companion. She is always right by my side, she actually likes to be touching me. She loves Tony too and prefers to sleep with him in the bed. He even let's her have her own pillow. Mason loves her so much and he sounds so cute when he says her name. Shortly after we brought her home, our older pei, johnny had to have another eye surgury for entropian. His left eye had gotten really bad again. After the surgury it seemed like he shed a few years. Betsy and Johnny are constant companions. They play together in the yard and love to chase squirrels up the fence!  They always lay next to each other. We have had no problems with food or toy agression, they eat close to each other and even share water dishes.

We love her so much and feel blessed to have her!  I promise to send some updated pics of Bets in her pink rhinestone collar!  haha!  Brooke

2/10/09: Just wanted to let you know that Betsy is still doing great. I am taking her to the vet this month for her yearly check up, I'm sure she weighs in over 40lbs now. She really is the sweetest little dog. She is so easy to take care of and we can't imagine not having her around. We live near Stone Mountain and have been taking the dogs and Mason on nature hikes. They really love being in the woods. She even lets Mason hold the leash and waits for him on the path!
Hope all is well with you and the peis. I have attached some new pics of Betsy. Brooke

Beautiful!

12/26/2010: Hi Cindy, Just wanted to let you know that little Betsy is still fantastic! I know it has been a while since I have given you an update, but please be assured that she is truly living the life of a queen. Recently, she lays right in front of the fireplace or in front of our sunny front window. Sometimes she acts more like a big cat than a dog! She LOVES kids. It is so wonderful to see her excitement when Mason (who is now 4.5) gets home or wakes up. Sometimes I take her to the preschool where I work and Mason attends. The kids love her and she loves to visit. She tries to get in the car to go with us every morning!

We are expecting another baby any day now and I look forward to her companionship in the coming weeks. She never leaves my side, in fat, she sleeps in the bed at my feet every night. She still has a companion in our older pei, Johnny, who is now 15! She really wants him to play, but he just an't keep up anymore as he has recently been diagnosed with spinal disease. He still gets around, but he is starting to really show his age. I rescued him 14 years ago and he has had a good life, and I guess we will take it day by day. Betsy is really sweet to him and lets him go out the door first and waits patiently for him to come inside. I think she probably heped to add a few years to his life. We love her so much. She is such a great dog! Happy Holidays to you and yours, Brooke Horner.

Wow! You look good, girl.
