BEDFORD

Look at this handsome boy! Bedford is a cream horsecoat male and he's only 7-8 months old. He's very affectionate, gets along with other dogs and loves kids. He loves to curl up with you on the couch and watch TV.

Bedford is neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. He's small - around 38 lbs.

Bedford loves to play ball or tug-of-war with a rope.  He is good at chasing a Frisbee but he needs to work on the return portion of the game!  His favorite hobby is eating!  He loves to eat dog snacks and whenever any one came home, he thought it was their duty to provide him with a snack.  He is also very inquisitive.  Nothing happens around here that escapes his attention.  He quickly adapted to our family routine at night.  He stayed asleep on his blanket until the alarm rang in the morning.

Bedford would love to have his own family, especially if someone would be home with him most of the time. He knows how to use the pet door. Bedford doesn't like a crate.

3/16/06: Bedford is in his new home and is doing great. Donna loves him more than you can imagine. I got this note from her yesterday:

Hi Cindy, I thought I would let you know that we are having a 5 foot tall chain-link fence installed at the end of next week. My $200 rescue-dog is turning out to be a $4,600 dog, but he is worth every penny. His new fenced-in area will be about 230 X 100 feet, so I think he will like that. I will still take him on his walks every day but he can run off a whole lot of steam in the back yard.

left to right: Ed Gant, who rescued Bedford from the streets of Hendersonville and drove him up to Ohio;Bedford; Donna and Tom, Bedford's new family. Obviously Bedford was more interested in something over by Tom than he was looking at the camera!

UPDATE 5/1/06: Hi Cindy,
I just wanted to let you know that Bedford is really settling in here nicely and we all just love him to pieces! He loves his back yard and runs around like a race horse. I am so glad that he is happy here and has taken to me so well. He sleeps as close to me as he can at night. When I walk around he stays a few steps ahead of me as if he is herding me like a cow. I just get the biggest kick out of his expressions and the way he looks at me. He just wants to tell me so many things and acts so frustrated because he can't.
Well, I only wanted to give you an update. I hope all is well with you guys. Stay in touch. Donna Miller.

Bedford (right) with his baby sister, Lily (left). They look so much alike, it's really amazing.

12/7/08: Bedford, Lily and their new brother, the boxer.

Bedford's mom loves drawing him and she does a beautiful job.

3/1/09: Cindy, I was pleased and surprised that you posted the drawing of my sweet, little boy on your website. The drawing just doesn't do him justice; it is hard to capture the true magnificence and beauty of a Shar Pei. I'll keep practicing though because I love looking into his beautiful golden eyes which look so lovingly back into mine. Thank you for the opportunity to be able to share my life with these amazingly intelligent dogs. I feel so blessed! Gratefully, Donna Miller

4/11/09: Cindy, Things are great here! Lily and Bedford are the best of pals and are doing great. Lily is big as a barn and snores like a Banshee! I think she needs nasal strips (just kidding). Bedford is still the same little guy as ever. Beddy's favorite thing is getting his back-side scratched and I wish you could see him when he is getting scratched, because he looks like he has spiings on his back legs and jumps and prances (back legs only). He just loves that scratching- so funny!!! I love kissing his fat chops, but he doesn't appreciate it, I'm quite sure. Both of them have the most beautiful coat of hair! Everyone that visits the nursery asks if they are litter mates, and think they are adorable. They are the best dogs anyone colud ask for, and have given me countless hours of their love and undivided attention. What loyal little lovies they are!!! Bedford sends a sloppy kiss and Lil Pill sends lots of wags, Donna

Ahhh, the life of Riley!
