BAILEY

4/12/08: Meet Bailey! Bailey is a beautiful black horsecoat male. He is very regal looking when he walks and holds his head high. Bailey weighs 47 lbs and is crate trained, vaccinated and on heartworm preventive. He will be neutered on 4/19 or 4/26. Bailey is an angel in the bathtub, which is very unusual for these guys. I think he actually liked it. Bailey doesn't like other male dogs, but he loves his female friends. Bailey is very social - he really likes people after he's had a chance to warm up.

8/1/08: I believe Amy fell even deeper in love when she finally got to actually meet Bailey. He, on the other hand, tried to hide behind one of only two people who have been kind to him, ME. It took a few minutes, but finally Bailey decided that Amy was a very nice person who was going to be kind to him also. Bailey even let Brandon pet him a little without being too afraid. Remember, all the Unicoi County dogs were afraid of the male gender, so we were glad to see Bailey take to Brandon so quickly. We're sure Bailey will be happy in his new home.

8/3/08: We got a very nice note tonight from Bailey's new grandmother, Amy's mom. She is so excited that she will get to meet Bailey in a couple weeks when she comes down from Buffalo NY to visit Amy and her sister. She says Bailey will be really spoiled by his grandparents. Ms. Green also was very generous and donated a Kuranda bed and fleece cover for our guys here. We are very grateful.

Bailey at home!

8/14/08: Bailey is really coming around to Brandon and me. We went to Burgess Falls last weekend and he had a good time. He had his first vet visit and he has a skin rash that we got some medicine for. Bailey has some separation anxiety when I leave and we're working on that. It's only for the first 5 or 10 minutes, but he paces around and barks a little and sometimes he makes his tummy upset and poops. Poor guy! I bought a crate figuring that it may help, but he didn't like it at all. So, I'm just letting him warm up to everything a little at a time and hopefully over time, he'll understnad that I'm always coming home. We're going to start him in training classes at the end of the month so that should help, too. I tried to get my purse and keys like 10 times today, over and over, trying out what I read on a web site, although every time he was upset. I just want him to feel like he's home and not think I am going to leave him. Amy

We are very sorry to hear this about Bailey. Hopefully he'll feel comfortable real soon so he can relax and know that Amy will come back when she leaves. Cindy

9/27/08: We saw Bailey and Amy today at the Pet Celebration Day in Shelbyville TN. He is doing so well. It is truly amazing. He LOVES other dogs, which is so hard to believe after seeing him from the beginning. He's still a little afraid of people, but Amy is working hard to help him get over that. We are so proud of and happy for Bailey.

11/18/08: Bailey and his new sister got to go Trick or Treating. How funny is that!
