SUNSHINE

1/21/08: Sunshine was found wandering the streets and a kind family took her in to keep her from being injured. They wanted to keep her because she's so sweet, but one of their Great Danes didn't like her at all. Sunshine is rather shy with humans at first, but warms up quickly. It has taken a little longer for her to be comfortable with our dogs because of her experience with the Great Dane.

Suni is a work in progress. She's had her vaccinations and was spayed today. She has some wounds that are healing and she has very itchy skin. Hopefully the skin issue is a direct reflection of not having the proper diet. Sunshine loves to be petted and talked to. She sometimes 'talks' back while we are playing with her.

After all she's been through, Sunshine deserves a loving home. We believe she will do fine with one other dog. Too many at once seem to make her nervous, but, who knows, she may very well get over that after a while.

Remember, Suni is a work in progress and will look much better when she gains a few pounds and her wounds heal.

22/16/08: This sweet girl has come a long way. She's turning into a beautiful pei and she has such a laid back attitude and personality. She is extremely well behaved and is really hoping to find her forever home real soon. She wants her own family.

3/10/08: This sweet girl is on her way to Columbus GA, which will be one of her new homes. You see, her new mom is in school here at the School of Theology, so she'll have two homes - one here in Sewanee and one in Columbus - until Lorna finishes school. This is a match made in heaven. Suni is very quiet and laid back and will fit Lorna's lifestyle very well. Lots of study time for Lorna with Suni lying quietly beside her for moral support. Thanks, Lorna, for giving this girl the second chance that she so desperately deserves.

3/11/08: Just wanted you to know that Sunshine is doing fine down here in the Deep
South. She is still very shy but has made a real effort to be friendly with
everyone. The pug however rules! It is so funny to see a tiny pug just by
her assertive presence rule the roost. Sunshine goes along with the
program & they get along just fine.
Sunshine aka Sunny...had found her "cave"..her safe place. The landing of
the stair case has a clear view of the living room & she lies up there
when it gets too noisy or too many people around..... & snooozes, with one
eye on what's going on.
She walks on the leash like a champ and has eaten well also. She is a
sweetheart.
More later. Hope its not too quiet up there without us students.
Cheers,  Lorna

5/12/08: I stopped by to visit Suni and Lorna Friday afternoon. I couldn't believe how good Sunshine looks. Thanks, Lorna, for taking such good care of this beautiful girl.

11/16/08: Just to let you know that Sunshine is no fool...got home from the theater & take Sunshine out & its snowing. She has one look at the snow, pees immediately & drags me back to the door to go back inside. Clever dog! Lorna

12/26/08: Not sure Sunshine is as happy about this situation as the boys are! Poor baby!!

3/3/2010: Let sleeping Pei lie . . .

Sweet!
