JO JO

Look at that face! Now can you resist that?     Jo Jo came to us from a shelter in Louisville KY where she was living following removal from her owner for neglect. She has hair loss, probably due to bad nutrition, but now that she's on a good diet, we're sure her hair will start to regrow very soon.

Jo Jo is a three year old black brushcoat. She is very sweet, loves everybody, gets along well with other dogs, and probably cats since she was locked up in a shed with them before coming to us. She will be spayed in a few days. She also has a cherry eye that will be removed at the same time.

Jo Jo is house trained and crate trained. She is heartworm free and on prevention.

When Jo Jo wants to play, she gets down on her chest and puts her butt up in the air. She is so cute.

Jo Jo will make a wonderful family pet.

UPDATE 6/13/04: JoJo went to her new home today in Paducah KY. Taryn was especially taken with her and the family said she was the most beautiful shar pei they had ever seen. Way to go, JoJo. We thank the Pauls very much for giving JoJo and safe and loving home. We know she will be very, very happy.

3/19/06: Thanks for the update on Shiloh.  She has really come a long way in a short time.  I bet the absence of pain is incredible to her!  I wanted you to know that when I told Taryn the story of the SharPei puppy who needed an operation and that Mike and I would send some money to help, she asked if she could send $20 from her savings too.  After reading the story of what happened to Shiloh today, I went home to have lunch with JoJo.  She and I shared a good cry over a sandwiche.  As long as she takes her medicine, she does great.  She even takes her pills without the pieces of chicken to go with them now!  She loves to play with her "babies" and she still sticks her behind up the air to signal she is ready to play.  She loves to run in the yard with Taryn and sleep in bed with her.  I've given up that battle of trying to keep her out of Taryn's bed.  I've learned life is too short to sweat the small stuff.  Susan

6/9/09: Hi Cindy,

Yes, we can tell JoJo feels much better now that she takes Marin every day for her liver. Her coat is better and she doesn't have the spots or the growths on her stomach any more like she used to. She is back to playing with her babies and she loves to run as best she can with Taryn when they go outside. She actually hops on her back legs to run and reminds me of a bunny rabbit. She has a good appetite!

Jo and her best friend, Taryn

She still gets very nervous during a thunderstorm. Last night I sat on the floor by her bed and pet her to calm her down until the storm was over.

She is such a good girl, and she doesn't give up. The vet calls her a tough bird! We love her.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Talk to you later. Susan

7/30/09: Cindy, we lost JoJo today. I am so sad that she is gone, I can't do anything but cry.

She was such a good girl and she fought so hard to keep going, but her organs finally gave out on her. Mike said that he knows our love and care for her these past five years gave her a reason to live. But it finally got to be too much for her little body. She was the sweetest, most loving girl.

Taryn is very upset, as we all are. We just miss Jo so much, but we keep reminding ourselves that she is at peace now. And God knows she deserves that peace.

Susan
