2/24/2010: Raven didn't understand why she was dumped on the street to fend for herself. She thought she was being a good girl. Raven is a beautiful black brushcoat. She's about 3 years old. Raven has tiny white hairs around her eyes. I've never seen this before, but it sure is distinctive. Raven is crate trained, house trained and loves male dogs, but is very testy with other females. She's timid when first meeting people, but it sure doesn't take long for her to warm up. Raven is vaccinated and on heartworm preventive. She will be spayed and have her eyes fixed on Thursday, 3/4/2010. Then she'll be ready for her new home. Raven will be fostered in Montgomery AL until she finds her new permanent home.

Raven on her way to her new foster home in Montgomery AL. She'll have lots of playmates there - Dani and Synda (Pei) and two Doxies.
3/23/2010: Well, Miss Raven obviously doesn't like other girl dogs. She's not being very nice to Dani and Synda, but totally ignores the two male Doxies in the household. Raven will need to be either in an only dog home or one that has only a male dog. But here's a cute story about Raven from her foster mom, Kathy: Just have to tell you one more funny story and will leave you alone for the day. Think I told you when I walked her the first time, her tail was almost straight up in the air. Last night I was scratching her back, right above her tail, and that tail went straight up in the air again. She kept getting closer and closer to me. That tail going straight up in the air seems to be the indicator that she really likes something. She's a sweet little girl - just wish she wasn't so aggressive towards my babies. Kathy
3/29/2010: Well, Miss Raven attacked Dani one too many times so she's back here with us - having a great time with the boys, but being kept separate from the girls. Raven needs a home with no other dogs or with male dogs. She loves playing so the latter would be preferable.
4/3/2010: Raven gets more beautiful every day. Her coat is a thick, rich black and since putting on some weight, she looks great. She loves to run, run, run and play with the boy dogs. Raven, although shy initially, loves people.
4/18/2010: You have to watch this video! We thought Raven didn't get along with other females but, lo and behold, she and Gracie have a big time together. The only time there's a problem is with her bones. She doesn't like to share. She doesn't go after the other dog, but she postures like she might. Telling her no solves the problem. We do not leave bones down when we aren't here and she's left with another dog. A simple solution.

5/23/2010: Raven is such a pretty girl, but she still has significant issues with people. She seems to be more comfortable with females than males and she's really afraid of childeren. Raven will do best is a quiet home so she can feel comfortable. She has settled in here very nicely but when visitors come, she retreats to another room.

6/29/2010: It was a sad day for us, but we know Raven is in a wonderful place with wonderful people. Raven met her new family today. She was very scared, especially at first, but she relaxed a little as you can see in the last picture. The first picture is when we stopped for gas on the way down to Kennesaw GA; then there's Cheryll, Jasenia and Raven; then Cheryll and Raven. Dale chose not to be in the picture since Cheryll kept telling him that Raven is HER dog. :-) This family understands that it's going to take some time for Raven to warm up and feel comfortable there, just like it did here, but they are willing to do what it takes to get her there. Thanks, Cheryll, Dale and Jasenia for adopting this very special little girl. We know you will love her unconditionally.

6/30/2010: Good Morning Cindy, You would be so proud of Raven, she did much better than we expected. Although she wouldn't eat. She even came to me this morning when I called her. Yea! Cheryll
7/1/2010: Good Morning Cindy, Raven slept really well last night. She's doing pretty good with Dale. Still, not eating. I did get her to eat a piece of cheese. Cheryll
