Phoebe

7/30/09: What a cute face! Phoebe was picked up as a stray by a good samaritan along with two small puppies. She's a tiny little thing; about 25 lbs and so, so sweet.

Phoebe is a fawn brushcoat female. She will be spayed on 8/30/09, and will also have her eyes fixed then. She is crate trained (although she barks for a little while) and house trained. She seems very comfortable in the house. She jumped on the couch about an hour after she got here. She walks great on the leash. Surely she must have belonged to somebody at some time, but we'll never know her story. She only has to look toward a better and brighter future in a home that will love her and make sure she's never left to wander the highway alone again.

8/8/09: Oh, my gosh. This is the sweetest little girl we've had in a long time. She absolutely adores Galon; wants to go everywhere he goes. She cries for him. Phoebe saw the vet yesterday and got her vaccinations and heartworm test. She's negative, which was really good news. We started her on preventive today. Phoebe will be spayed on 8/20.

9/15/09: Phoebe is really a hoot. She's so quiet most of the time, but when she's not, she's wide open as you can see in this video. This girl loves to play.

11/13/09: Well, it might be Friday, the 13th, but it's sure not an unlucky day for little Phoebe. You see, her new family picked her up today to take her to her new home in St. Charles IL. What a wonderful family! The whole family loved her immediately. Phoebe was scared at first and was really scared when it was time to get in the car, but I know she'll be fine once she has time to adjust. She was afraid when she came here, too, but it didn't take her long to settle in and become very comfortable.

2/22/2010: It's a tough life for Phoebe, wouldn't you say? This girl is in such a good place and she knows it! Check out Phoebe's video where she's playing with a very large St. Bernard, one of two that live in the home with her. Click here.

Here's a note from her mom: Phoebe, she is our princess.  As I'm writing this she is sprawled out on my bed.  I'll take a pic and send it to you.  She is very happy.  She sleeps every single night with my oldest, Ellie.  They have a special bond.  She is, without a doubt, my girl.  She follows me around everywhere.  She literally will be sound asleep, I'll walk past her to the bathroom and when I come out, she is laying on the floor in front of the bathroom.  I've almost tripped over her a couple times.  I've come to look first before I walk.  Lol. I can't imagine life without her.  BTW, the saints have had a change in attitude towards her.  Ivan plays the most with her.  He smacks her with his huge paws, but no worries,  she loves it and avoids most of it.  Imiko and her play tug of war with stuffed animals.  It's quite the funny thing to watch.  Imiko who weighs about 160 pounds just lays on the ground, while Phoebe is pulling with all her might.  Imiko let's her win 9 out of 10 times.  He's such a gracious gentleman.  I don't know why they've had a change in heart.  In the beginning, they totally ignored her as if she didn't exist.  Now, they play with her every time she instigates it.  Harmony... Take care and I'll send some photos.  I think I might have a little video of tug of war.  I'll send that too. Maribeth
