10/15/09:Gus is from the litter of puppies that Buddha presented us with last July. As you can see, he isn't a Shar Pei, but nonetheless, we want him to have his very own home where he will be happy. Gus is neutered, current on vaccinations, on heartworm preventive and microchipped. He gets along great with the rest of the crew here. He is house trained and crate trained.
Gus is a playful puppy - sometimes getting into things he shouldn't. But all in all, he's a good boy looking for a good home.

3/21/2010: Hey!! We picked up Gus this morning! There were pups that were super scared, and pups that were super hyper. Then, Gus walked out, and he was perfect... just shedding, A LOT! I think he's getting rid of his puppy coat AND it is spring time, so I'm sure there will be a lot of shedding for the next few weeks. We got him in the car, and he pretty much just laid down the hour ride home. He was looking out the window, snoozing, and licking. No barking, no whining, no problem. Just showed him the yard - as you know we have an invisible fence, but we won't be bringing that into his life for a while now as not to scare him, so don't worry about that. We showed him the boundaries though, and he seemed fine. He walks SO so well on a leash! WOW! We're amazed! You did so much with him, he's great! :) Showed him around the house also. He knows where his water dish is now. Took him around on a leash first, then let him off leash. He's very cautious and sniffing everything :) We have a porch attached to the front door... it has all of our outdoor gear - skis, bikes, boots, tuning table, snowshoes, etc. He was a little nervous to go out there to look around, so he put his front paws out first, and kept his back legs in the house until he couldn't stretch anymore. Then, one back leg at a time he walked onto the porch ( I was watching him the whole time, letting him do it by himself from the kitchen). Then I peeked around the corner to watch him, and he was slowly sniffing everything. After a bit, I asked "how is it Gus?" and he looked up and started wagging his tail. A lot of people have already been over to visit and he's been great with everyone so far! Haven't brought him to meet the parents' dog yet, but will soon. It's only been a few hours and he's coming along great. One quick question: His hind legs.... they're alright, right? He's just very flexible! He sat in a split the whole way home!!! Thanks so much for all your hard work and care. Bri and Mike (Picture coming soon.)

3/21/2010 (later): Yes, we did get the adoption packet. Thanks for giving us that note on the next heartworm preventive, the vaccination records, and everything else it came with. It was very helpful and informative. He'll be going in for his first vet appointment either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. He's doing great! He's met lots of dogs and people today. Very good with all animals, kids and people which is absolutely amazing. He's been very very good, and seems to be extremely laid back. Had a couple of walks and a ton of attention. He's pooped right now! At one point today he put his head on my lap and fell asleep standing up! Thanks so much! Bri
1/4/2011: Hi Cindy,
It's been a while since we've last updated...
We've moved to Montana so I could attend grad school. Gus drove with
me from NH to MT, and he pretty much slept the entire way out; He was
an awesome traveler!
We've been in Montana now for 5 months and Gus is loving the open fields
to run around in. He also loves to go snowshoeing and XC-skiing with
us too... absolutely loving the snow.
Attached are some pictures of Gus running in our backyard in MT, and a boat ride in NH on July 4th. There is also a link to a video we (well, Gus) made. We got this camera called a GoPro for xmas so we could attach it to our helmets/bikes/etc. and make videos, but we thought it might be neat to make a video of the dogs perspective. So, enjoy!
Hope all is well,
Bri and Mike
