Angus

5/17/09: Look at this pretty boy! Angus is a 7 year old fawn male brushcoat. He's very friendly and playful with people and. he loves playing with other dogs. Unfortunately, Angus was just returned to us by his adoptive family of three years because they are having a baby in a few weeks and they don't think Angus would do well with a small child. Apparently he growled at their nephew when the child fell on him and pulled his leg.

Angus is being fostered in Nashville with Bryan, who has two Pei - Jackson and Sarah. I took him down today to meet them, and he did great with the two Pei. He was more interested in how many times he could lift his leg on the new territory! And believe me, he must have done it at least 50 times. Whew!

I just talked to Bryan and he said Angus is settling in. He ate his supper and is resting on his bed. Angus is an escape artist and almost immediately found a large enough opening to escape the fenced yard. No fear - Bryan caught him and fixed the hole. Whatever family adopts Angus will need to be very, very careful with this problem.

We'll have some more pictures of Angus soon. Check back.

5/18/09: He's doing great. He ate really well again tonight and then when he was ready, he came inside and went to bed, which is where he has been for over an hour now. He is responding very well to me and, in fact, he tried to play with me some tonight until Sarah decided to get bossy with him and put an end to it. She is such a bossy girl. Thank you for the collars and id tags. I will be sure to look for them and I will get them on him as soon as they come in. Bryan

5/23/09: Just to let you know, overall I think Angus is a great dog. He's got a great personality and he's really smart. In fact I was laughing at him last night when he was sneaking and getting up on the patio couch. He would look around to see if I was watching him and then he would very slowly and quietly get up on the couch. As soon as I would say his name though he would jump back down and walk over to the edge of the patio and start wagging his tail with this "I didn't do anything" expression on his face. 9/5/09: This sweet boy is being adopted by his foster dad, Bryan. He's happy there with Bryan, Jackson and Sarah. We are really excited for Angus. Bryan has done an amazing job training him. You see, he was an undisciplined, unruly boy when he came back into rescue. Not so now. Yea for Angus!

12/8/2010: Do you think Bella is keeping Angus young? He sure is a tolerant old guy. Click here. That Bella sure is a talker!
