9/29/2010: Baylee is such a sweet girl. I would like to thank Pat Johnson for taking care of her and nursing her back to health for many months. Baylee came to us in June. She is a very sweet girl and loves to be loved. Her wounds have all healed and hair has grown back over almost all of them. She still has a few small scars. She walks well on the leash. She is now wearing a martingale type collar, and if she does try to pull, it reminds her and she stops.
Baylee likes to be outside but comes back in when we call her, unless she is still doing her “business”. When finished she comes running. She plays fetch some, and likes to tug on a rope with you, but she mainly just loves to explore the yard. She loves to watch the fish in the fish pound. At first she would get in with them, but soon learned that was not acceptable. lol
From all the wounds Baylee had and the looks of them, we think she was attacked by dogs or possibly coyotes. She wants to be friends with other dogs, but is afraid of them, and then gets aggressive. She can walk by other dogs in their pens now without getting upset, but we still have not put her loose alone with another dog. We have walked her on leash with another dog and have kept them at a distance so that she would not feel threatened, but when Herbie has gotten down and thumped at her to play, she has gotten scared and aggressive. At this time it is still best that she go to a one dog family.
Baylee is crate trained, and has one in the room she stays in. However, she usually is on a doggie bed outside her crate, or a rug inside the bathroom that adjoins the room. She does not like the crate very much, especially during storms. She does well in the TV room with us and has never bothered anything she shouldn't
.
I know if you give Baylee a chance you will love her as we do. She needs her own home where she does not have to share love with so many other dogs. She will give much more back than she gets.

We require that a home visit by a volunteer be done prior to adoption. The purpose of the home visit is to ensure that the information given during the adoption process is correct and that the home is the right match for the dog being adopted. The home visit also gives adopters a chance to ask questions about the adoption process.
The adoption fee for Baylee is $200, which helps to offset
the cost of her medical care.
If you have trouble filling out our application, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with an application via email or "snail" mail.
