ROSCOE
Adoption Pending

Roscoe is a very sweet boy. He gets along well with other dogs and he never meets a stranger.  Roscoe was placed in a home 4.5 years ago and has just been returned because of the illness of his adoptive mom. It was a very sad moment when Linda brought Roscoe to our house and had to leave him behind. Roscoe has a bad knee and he is a little overweight, so we're working on getting some pounds off and he is taking glucosamine daily to help with his knee problem. Roscoe is still a very loving boy and loves to go for short walks. Otherwise, he's happy to sleep on his Kuranda bed next to the person who happens to be watching TV.

Please think about giving this guy a loving home.

7/2/07: Roscoe is doing great! He is slim and trim and has very little trouble with his knees. He takes glucosamine every day to make them better and it really works. Roscoe is very easy going and gets along with other dogs. I think he would not be nice to cats or other small animals, like squirrels, because he goes crazy when he sees one in the yard. Roscoe's only bad habit is that he will run away if he gets half the chance, so it's very important to make sure he can't get out an open doorway. He always comes back but it sure is scary until he does.

9/4/07: We learned today that Roscoe's mom, Linda, passed away last night. She has been really sick for almost a year. She fought hard, but finally lost the battle. Please keep Eric, Linda's son, and Tony, her friend, in your thoughts and prayers. Tony sent this picture of Roscoe today.

We've kept Roscoe here with us for many months, but we believe that he deserves to have his own home and not have to share with so many other dogs. We will, of course, be very particular about where Roscoe goes. Linda trusted us to do that and we want to honor that commitment.

We require that a home visit by a volunteer be done prior to adoption. The purpose of the home visit is to ensure that the information given during the adoption process is correct and that the home is the right match for the dog being adopted. The home visit also gives adopters a chance to ask questions about the adoption process.

The adoption fee for Roscoe is $150, which helps to offset the cost of his medical care.

To fill out the on line application, return to the Adoption page.
