This is Nikki. She just came into rescue today (11/24/01) from a shelter in east Tennessee. Nikki is a very small shar pei, weighing only 26 pounds. She has a very sweet personality, is quiet and is a little frightened of new surroundings at first. She is spayed, heartworm negative and UTD on all vaccinations. She's also housebroken and crate trained. Unfortunately, Nikki will need entropion surgery before going to an adoptive home.
UPDATE: Nikki had eye surgery yesterday and she's doing great. She will be ready for adoption in about 2 weeks.
UPDATE: 12/08/01 Nikki went to her new home today. Her family consists of Mom, Dad and Luka, a 10-year old blind pei. Because Luka is blind, Nikki is still trying to figure out how much he is willing to play with her. She's learning real quickly though. Margie and Todd think Nikki is wonderful! I'm sure this family will be very happy together for a very long time.

11/14/09: Cindy,
We wanted to let you know that we had to have Nikki put to sleep tonight.
A little over a week ago, she stopped eating and her back legs weren't
working very well. We were able to feed her a little people food but
she quit eating it also and by today she couldn't stand up on her
own and was very bloated. As hard as it was, I think it was the best
decision so that she wouldn't suffer. Margie and Todd
A very sad day for this family and for us.
