Meet Molly. This is the sweetest girl you'll ever want to meet. She is so well behaved and loves everybody. She gets along with other dogs. She's very laid back and easy going. Molly has some allergy issues that are kept under control with a daily allergy pill (Temaril-P). Molly is overweight, so we're working on that, too.
Molly is spayed, current on vaccinations, on heartworm preventive and flea preventive.
You can't go wrong with this one!
7/28/07: This sweet girl is in her new home in Madison AL. Molly made herself right at home when we got there. She crawled up on the big, soft dog bed that was in the family room like it was hers! It was a rocky start for her and Moose (their chocolate lab), but Lori reports now that they are best buds - running and playing in the big back yard. Molly and Moose will be joined by Jamie after his surgery this week. This is a great home for Molly and Jamie. We are excited that Wayne and Lori wanted to adopt two of our guys - maybe three. They're thinking about Cookie also. You see, their dogs are their children - as Lori says, yes, we have children, but they have tails. Thank you , Lori and Wayne. And Molly, you are one lucky little girl!

9/20/07: Thank you so much for ordering the Kuranda bed for us. I hoped to get a photo of Molly using it, but that hasn’t worked out so well yet for two reasons. First, Molly, Jamie, and Moose are still sleeping on our bed at night! Molly gets on the Kuranda if I ask, but when she waits at the side of the people bed to be lifted, I can’t say no to her sweet face and hopeful tail.
Second, I had to order a new battery for my camera -- the present one stays charged fewer than five minutes now. I’ll definitely send you copies of any photos I get. One with all three dogs on the people bed: “Before Kuranda”, and one with at least one dog on the dog bed, “After Kuranda”.
Each of the dogs have taken daytime naps on the new bed, and Jamie likes using it as a trampoline for jumping on the other guys. I think Jamie might be the first to take ownership of the Kuranda bed at night, because he usually likes to jump down from our bed and stretch out in the early morning hours.
Since they’ve been napping in the office
with me, I just moved the bed in here, and now they’re all
asleep on the floor AROUND the bed. I’d like a photo
of that, and I’d caption it “Unclear on the Concept”.Lori
1/29/09: Great news about Molly: her coat has
filled in completely -- even the backs of
her back legs -- and it’s even gotten soft. On no meds at
all! She’d get fiery
red itchy toes and tail wrinkles every six weeks even while on
Temaril-P and
Claritin, so we tried allergy testing while putting her on Hill$
Pre$cription Ultra
Low Allergen kibble (which is still cheaper than steroid shots
to give her
itch relief).
We found she’s allergic to corn (like lots of dogs), potatoes,
and soy (so no more
fish oil caps for her). Showing Wayne the test results finally
stopped him sneaking
his Tostitos and leftover mashed potatoes to her.
By carefully measuring and feeding only the amount you recommended,
she’s even
lost four pounds over a couple of months. I was so proud of her
weight loss
because we’ve never owned a pet that lost any weight between
vet visits!
So we’re keeping her on the z/d food, and found it’s
easier to feed Jamie the
same stuff than it is to keep them from wanting to sneak each
other’s food.
We’ll see how well this continues to prevent her skin flare-ups.
She’s a new
girl with lots more energy, too -- maybe all that itching kept
her from
wanting to chase Jamie, AKA Speed Racer. Lori
