MAX

.

Max is a beautiful fawn brushcoat with a wonderful temperament. He loves people and he gets along with other dogs.

Max is heartworm negative and on preventive, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Max does not like to be crated, unfortunately, but he is not destructive at all, so there's really no need to crate him. Max is housetrained.

Max will make a wonderful family pet.

3/18/06: Max went to a great home on Saturday. He will be living in Knoxville TN with Rand and Cathie, who have already fallen hopelessly in love with this little guy. Way to go, Max! And thanks Rand and Cathie for giving Max a second chance at a wonderful life!

2/15/07: Just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful companion...MAX. He's doing great! No medical problems since he's been with us except for ear fungus which was cured quickly. He's the most awesome dog. We meant to write you much sooner than this but just haven't...sorry. We've got him on Dogster.com if you want to check him out. He loves to ride in Daddy's jeep, go for walks, sleep on his fluffy bed and play fetch. He's learned to sit and shake hands (still working on that one) He's very loyal and follows at our heels every step. We can be in our office on our computers and Max sleeping at our feet, one of us will sneak off and he immediately prances up and follows. He gets whiny if its been a few days since we've gone for a hike.(Like recently with this cold weather) but as soon as we hit the road he's happy. We take him to a dog park for socialization and he absolutely loves it. It brings tears to my eyes to watch him run and play with the other dogs. He's alway so good and playful and we get alot of comments on what a nice dog we have. ;)
We've decided that he needs a companion, and to tell the truth Mom and Dad are ready too. Max is such a social little thing and we feel that a buddy would make him happy. Our daughter brings her dog over to play and they both have a blast running and romping. So, we had our eye on Lilly but I see her adoption is pending, if it doesn't work out we are very interested in her. Actually WE WANT HER! We feel that a smaller/younger dog would be best since Max is the Master of the household. We don't think another dominant dog would be good for Max. We want a female. So, if  you have one that you think would be a match please let us know. In the meantime we'll continue to watch your site. We've also got our eye on Josie, we know she's not pure bred but thats ok. If she's half as wonderful as Max she's perfect.

Happy Sharpei Dad and Mom,
Rand and Cathie Cardwell
Knoxville, TN

 Look at this handsome boy!

2/19/08: Max and Josie are doing great!  They're the best of buddies and have been at my side, stuck like glue during my illness. They're so faithful. I can't move without them moving in harmony with me. Rand has Josie spoiled to sleep in the bed. (Not my choice, but I have no control) and Max sleeps on a pallet at the foot of the bed. We got them a doggie door because it was getting very difficult for me to get up and down to let them out. (Rand works swing shift and I have had to spend a lot of time at home alone) Boy what a wonderful investment! They're in and out all day long and we haven't had any "Josie" accidents in the house since. They can go right onto the deck and fenced in area and they love the added freedom. I'm anxious to get back on my feet again so we can take them hiking in the spring as we all love to be outside and hike. Cathie and Rand
