  JOSIE

Josie came to us from an East Tennessee shelter. She is obviously not a purebred pei. We're pretty sure she a Pei/Lab mix. Pictures don't always tell the truth! Anyway, Josie is less than a year old. She is very sweet, but has obviously been mistreated. When she first came to us, she cowered whenever she was touched. Poor girl. I felt so bad for her. She's much better now. Her favorite thing is to have her belly rubbed. She will lie next to you (or on you) with her head in your lap for as long as you rub her. Josie is much prettier than these pictures, so we'll try to get better ones soon. She really doesn't like the camera.

Josie is house trained and crate trained. The only time she makes a peep is when she needs to use the bathroom. She was treated for the mange but it's cleared up and the hair is regrowing. She will be spayed and vaccinated soon.

2/25/07: Little Miss Josie is in her new home in Knoxville TN. She has a new brother, Max. Isn't he handsome! Thank you, Cathie and Rand, for giving this girl a second chance. You won't regret it!!

Isn't that Max a handsome dude?

Doesn't she look great!!

2/19/08: Max and Josie are doing great!  They're the best of buddies and have been at my side, stuck like glue during my illness. They're so faithful. I can't move without them moving in harmony with me. Rand has Josie spoiled to sleep in the bed. (Not my choice, but I have no control) and Max sleeps on a pallet at the foot of the bed. We got them a doggie door because it was getting very difficult for me to get up and down to let them out. (Rand works swing shift and I have had to spend a lot of time at home alone) Boy what a wonderful investment! They're in and out all day long and we haven't had any "Josie" accidents in the house since. They can go right onto the deck and fenced in area and they love the added freedom. I'm anxious to get back on my feet again so we can take them hiking in the spring as we all love to be outside and hike. Cathie and Rand
