| Hyacinth (formerly China) was surrendered by her owner in Huntsville AL. One of our adopters had recently lost her beloved pei girl, and wanted Hyacinth almost immediately. We picked her up in Huntsville and kept her here for less than a week before she went to her new home in Swayzee IN with Randy and Jeananne, where she is very happy and spoiled rotten. I got this cute note today from Jeananne.
Cindy,
Hyacinth is doing great and if possible becomes smarter everyday. Yesterday one of the pillows off my bed was missing, a small pillow that I figured had fallen off. Hy went under the bed and I said Hy do you have Mom's pillow? The edge of the pillow would come out under the bottom of the bed and then go back, and then come out again and then go back. She is so smart!!!!! We are in the process of refinishing our floors because of all the dribbling she does, since she has several teeth missing water runs out of her mouth after getting a drink but oh well, she makes us happy and we make her happy. She is very protective and will not let anyone near me when I am walking her or if she and I are in the yard, but she is such a sound sleeper I am sure a burglar could rob us and she would never wake up. Jean
UPDATE 5/19/05: Hyacinth died today of renal failure. Randy and Jean are devastated and miss her terribly. But we know Hy had a great 1 1/2 years with them. |
