FIONA

7/28/07: This little girl comes to us as an owner surrender. Her mom and dad are missionaries and just can not keep her because of their travels to and from Mexico, where Fiona was born. Fiona will be a year old on September 2. She is a cream horsecoat. She will be checked for heartworms this next week and if she's negative, she'll be spayed as soon as we can get her on the schedule.
Fiona needs lots of TLC to learn to trust people. She hasn't been socialized as much as she needs to be. Fiona is crate trained. We don't know much more about her since we just got her today.
8/12/07: My goodness, this is a sweet little. She has come around very quickly and loves being around people (especially kids) and she loves to play with other dogs. She and Cookie has been become great friends.
Fiona is a tiny little thing - only 31 pounds. She's heartworm negative and on preventive and she's been spayed and had her eyes fixed, so she's ready to go!
9/19/07: Fiona is in her new home in Florida. Debbie is thrilled with her and the feeling is mutual. Debbie said she's never had a dog that licked her on the face like Fiona did almost immediately after meeting her. Fiona is having a tiny bit of trouble adjusting to being left alone. We're sure this will go away once she's comfortable in her new surroundings. Allen, Debbie's husband, hasn't moved to Florida from Wisconsin yet, so he hasn't had the good fortune of meeting Fiona yet; but he has descriptions and pictures. We know he's going to love her, too.
9/21/07: Hi Cindy,
The pictures of Fiona are so cute...... Fiona is doing so well! We are having such a great time together and I just love her so much. She sleeps in the spare bedroom and I get up a couple of times and she is streched out and so relaxed. She still does not like it when I leave but I'm not gone for long, just trying to get her used to it before I have to go to work again. Allen will be here for a week the 30th and he is so excited about Fiona! She will not lack for love, I'll tell you she will have all she needs and deserves. I hope that you are both doing well and I will e-mail you again soon to let you know how our little girl is doing!!!! take care, deb
9/28/07: You should see Fiona in the mornings.
She is so happy when I get up and rolls on her back so I can rub her
belly. She does the same thing at night and runs many times around the
house till her tounge is hanging way out of her mouth. She loves to
watch all the creatures out side from the bay window and when she is
out on the deck she is not still for a moment! She follows me everywhere
I go in the house. She is like my shadow. i tryed to get her to sleep
in my bed for she only stayed for a short while. She has made her bed
on the spare bed and now that is her bedroom. She has stolen my heart
like I never thought could happen. At times I see Maxie in her and I
get chocked up but than I am thankfull that Maxie is in a better place
and Fiona is with us in a loving home and has a chance for a happy life.
I think what you and your husband and many others are doing is a rare
gift and I know that being able to adopt a recuse dog is a wonderfull
gift to. I'm thankfull that some one here told me about the sharpei
recuse other wise I would never have known it about. Deb
3/21/09: Allen takes her to the dog park every
day and you should see her play with the BIG dogs. She is so fast!!!!
She does not bother with the smaller dogs at all. Every one there just
thinks she is so cute! What a clown she is. We thank God for our little
furry friend everyday! Take care, deb
