ELVIS
7/18/07: This poor boy has had a rough start to his short life. He's been abused and starved, not to mention tied up with an electrical cord. How he has such a wonderful temperament is truly amazing. Elvis will see the doctor on 7/20/07. He probably has demodex, which we will treat, of course, and we're really hoping that he doesn't have heartworm disease but if he does, we'll treat that, too.
Elvis is a young dog, probably around a year. He's a fawn horsecoat and he's a big boy. Right now he's very thin, but when he's at the correct weight, he'll probably weigh around 50 lbs. Elvis is house trained.
Elvis is starved for love and attention. When I pet him, he just leans on me. It's so sweet. Elvis loves other dogs and children. He will make an excellent pet.

7/20/07: Great news from the visit to the doctor. Elvis is heartworm negative and does NOT have demodex. Yea!!! This boy just needs a lot of TLC, good food and neutering. He'll be neutered on August 2, then he'll be ready for his new home.
7/24/07: We've just learned that Elvis is a digger. He's gotten out twice by digging under the gate in the fenced yard. So his new home will have to be very secure to keep his safe.
8/27/07: Elvis is doing great! He's stopped digging because I guess he decides it's not so bad living here. Seriously, Elvis is very well behaved and a joy to have around.
10/31/07: We placed Elvis in a great home, but it didn't work out because of minor separation anxiety issues. So he's back with us to stay. I knew in my heart that he belonged here because he's so much like our Chief and Zac. Guess God has a way of making these things work out as they are intended.
