What a cute fellow! Curley (now Chief) is 9 months old and is a real goofball. He loves to play. Curley isn't quite ready for adoption just yet. He has a little limp and we're going to get that checked out to be sure that he doesn't have a hip problem. He will be neutered after we've determined what the problem is with his hip.

Curley is house trained and crate trained and gets along with other dogs. He's a little skittish with new people, but comes around pretty quickly.

UPDATE 4/2/04: We had Curley's hips x-rayed today and were surprised to learn that he doesn't have a problem with his hip, but he does have a luxating patella. The knee cap on his left leg is sitting on the side of his leg instead of on the front. Doc says it is very likely developmental instead of being caused by an injury. She is sure he's in no pain. We will make the decision shortly about whether to do surgery and if so, when.

We also learned while at the vet that Curley is quite interested in cats, but is also quite afraid. He wagged his tail the entire time the cat was in the room, but when the cat would come close, Curley would back off. It was cute watching him.

UPDATE 5/16/04: Curley (now Chief) went to his new home today in Atlanta GA. We are sure he will be very happy with Brian. Thanks, Brian, for giving Chief a new beginning.

UPDATE 3/26/05: Chief has been re-homed with a very nice man named Pete. He is thriving and happy in his new home. We hope this will be the last move for Chief.
