BAILEY

Look at this handsome little boy! Bailey is a mini fawn brushcoat. Unfortunately, he's had some bad treatment - he's very scared and unsure of what's happening to him. We just got him today (9/24/05). He's had a nice warm bath with medicated shampoo because he has some skin issues and he's resting now.

Bailey will need some work so it will be a few weeks before he's ready for adoption. We will work with him to help him gain a little confidence before placing him in an adoptive home.

He's very sweet and gets along with other dogs and cats and he was very taken with my little granddaughter, so he's great with kids.

Check back for updates on Bailey's progress.

UPDATE 10/17/05: We got bad news on Wednesday about Bailey. He has hip dysplasia. It's not too bad at this point, so we have him on glucosamine and ester-c and are looking into which food would be the best for him. The doctor wants to see him again in 3 months.

1/14/06: Bailey went back to the doctor yesterday and we got the best news possible about his hip. Doc was totally surprised that Bailey is completely pain free, has full range of motion and good muscle mass in that hip. He said there was no need to x-ray and we just need to continue the glucosamine and ester-c - a small thing considering what a wonderful dog little Bailey is.

This means Bailey is ready for his new home. Whoever gets this little boy will be getting a perfect pet - loving and very well behaved.

2/11/06 Bailey is in his new home and loving it. Paulette is absolutely smitten by him and the feeling is mutual. Congratulations Paulette and Scott. We know you're going to be very happy with sweet Bill Bailey.

2/26/07: Bailey is doing fantastic. I think we spoil him worse than we did our kids, and he gives all the love back to us every day! We have dog visitors occasionally and he loves playing with them. Since we got his eyes fixed, he’s had no other problems at all, except we do still have to give him a little allergy medicine sometimes. He has maintained his weight very well, and shows no sign of hip problems at all. Paulette and I feel very blessed to have him.

6/9/07: Doesn't Bailey look great!
