Missy is a 5-6 year old southern belle whose origins are relatively unknown.  She came in to rescue neglected and starved but immediately blossomed into her true, gorgeous self.  Missy is the classic "wrinkled" pei, with a lovely, soft brushcoat. The underside of her fur is exposed between her wrinkles and I have been told that from a distance she looks like a little tiger!  I believe she has the heart of a tiger but the manners of Scarlet O'Hara.  She loves to be the center of attention, and can be a bit pushy about it.  She's very good with my other dogs but she does jockey to get in front of the line.  She has a lovely gait when walking, she really does "sashay" down the boulevard.

Missy is quite affectionate, and likes to be close to her humans.  I believe that Missy is well-suited to be either an only dog, or one of he pack. She is very good with children and has the usual stand-offishness of pei when it comes to strangers.  Which means for the first five minutes she'll be very interested in who the new person is and then after that she's completely disinterested.

Due to her heavy wrinkling, Missy will do best with monthly baths, maybe even bi-monthly.  Gentle shampoo, and a little leave-in conditioner wouldn't hurt either!

UPDATE 4/18/05:Missy will be traveling to her new home on Saturday, 4/23/05. We are certain that Peg, her foster mom, will miss her terribly, but we know that Missy will fall in love with Lisa in short order. Thank you, Peg and Lisa, for all you've done for this little girl!
